My name is Meagan Mellenbruch and I am currently a junior at Westlake High School graduating class of 2014. I am a starting six rotation outside hitter for the Westlake Chaparrals. This season we went undefeated in district play and participated in area playoff games. In addition to team honors, I was named to the All-District team as an honorable mention as well as the All-Academic Team. Besides playing for the Chaparrals, I am a member of the Austin Junior Volleyball Club and have trained with their program for five years starting at the age of 11. Under the guidance of top-notch coaches, I have achieved several of my goals including qualifying and playing in four Junior Olympics.
I feel volleyball players need to be strong individuals as well as team players and I approach my life off of the court in a like manner. In addition to maintaining an A average in a nationally ranked exemplarily high school, I volunteer for the Star of Texas Rodeo, participate in teen teaching leadership/mentoring program and help my family run a farming and ranching operation.
I started my journey on the volleyball court in 3rd grade and have set specific goals for myself including playing on competitive club teams, qualifying and participating in the Junior Olympics, playing on the varsity team for my high school and continuing my volleyball career in college. While I have achieved many of these goals, I find myself planning and preparing for the next phase of my volleyball journey and hope you take to the time to consider me for your program.
