Austin Junior Volleyball

AJV Financial Assistance: Overview

AJV Scholarship Fund Mission Statement:

To provide an opportunity for young girls to participate in Austin Junior Volleyball by helping them to achieve their full athletic potential through the promotion of leadership, teamwork, friendship, character, goal setting and self-discipline.

The Austin Junior Volleyball Financial Assistance Program is comprised of two funds:

The Financial Assistance Fund

The Financial Assistance Fund, or the AJV Scholarship Fund, was created to give all volleyball players the opportunity to play, regardless of their ability to pay.  The committee associated with the AJV Scholarship Fund raises money through the sale of sportswear and decals, a silent auction, and private donations. The money raised is distributed to AJV player accounts for applicants who have submitted an application* on time and demonstrated financial need.

The Scholarship Committee meets in March each year to review scholarship applications and determine awards.  Recipients will be notified of the amount they are to receive this season no later than April 1, 2020.

*Please note that in order for your application to be considered by the AJV Scholarship Committee, you must have submitted the AJV Scholarship Application AND Agreement ON TIME.  Failure to comply with either of the above requirements will result in disqualification from receiving a Scholarship Grant.

The Madison Bingaman Memorial Award

The Madison Bingaman Memorial Scholarship Fund (the "Bing" Fund) was set-up in the summer of 2007 in honor of the late Madison Bingaman (Stony Point student and AJV Class of '07) who tragically died in a car accident on her way to UMBC for her freshman season. Madison played for Austin Junior Volleyball for six years and was a true friend, teammate, and competitor. She loved volleyball and loved life.

The "Bing" Award was created to pass on the legacy of Madison Bingaman by issuing an award to players who have excelled in some way during the volleyball season.  There is no application for the "Bing" Award.  The recipients are selected based on their representation of Madison's outstanding character and are announced at the annual AJV Awards Banquet in May.
